Digital Solutions Architect

As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative tools and systems that enable oil and gas operators to comply with North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) regulations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geoscientists, engineers, and IT professionals, to create solutions that seamlessly integrate regulatory compliance into day-to-day operations.Your role is critical in ensuring that our clients have the technology and tools they need to meet compliance requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
The role includes designing scalable, fault-tolerant data architectures and managing the back-end development lifecycle for managing multiple data points.- Tool Development: Design and implement advanced tools and solutions that assist operators in achieving and maintaining compliance with NSTA regulations.
- Integration of Geoscience Data: Utilise your geoscience expertise to incorporate geological and geophysical data into compliance tools, ensuring that they are both accurate and user-friendly.
- Regulatory Insight: Stay informed about NSTA regulations and ensure that the tools you develop are aligned with current and future regulatory requirements by working with the Compliance Team Lead.
- Collaborative Solution Design: Work closely with internal teams and clients to understand their compliance challenges and create tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance and leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring that solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in compliance tools.
- Documentation & Training: Develop comprehensive documentation and provide training to operators on how to effectively use the tools and systems you create.
Requirements
Preferred experience includes oil and gas domain knowledge, regulatory and compliance expertise, and proficiency in data warehouse management and distributed systems design.- Energy Sector Background: Experience with building IT solutions to manage large amounts of data and integrating this data into a solution/product (e.g. production well data, well abandonment, carbon capture and storage, compliance data).
- NSTA Focus: Proven experience in creating tools or solutions that support similar regulatory frameworks in the oil and gas sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), enterprise architecture frameworks, data management, and integration technologies.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
