CAD Technician

The CAD Technician will work within the CAD Team, working methodically through 2D and 3D requests for technical drawings of metal components for our internal Sales department and customers directly.

WE WILL ONLY CONSIDER CANDIDATES LIVING IN ESSEX (any others will be rejected automatically).

• Utilise AutoCAD and SolidWorks software to create 2D and 3D technical drawings and designs as per project requirements.
• Ensure that customers are advised where we may need to adjust drawings or ensure that they provide the relevant dimensions for the drawing service.
• Interpret and comprehend engineering style and architectural sketches, blueprints, PDFs, and specifications provided by customers and internally.
• Ensure that drawings and designs comply with all relevant internal standards and customer requirements.
• Revise and modify existing drawings as directed by the customer.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements and updates in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
• Documenting processes and work effectively using a range of software packages.
• Support with ad-hoc internal project work.
• Record and report work logs.

• Proven experience working as a Junior CAD Designer, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing capacity.
• Experience with using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, or similar software.
• Some understanding of engineering principles and ability to convert conceptual ideas into technical drawings via excellent communication.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and error-free drawings.
• Maintain a prioritised and organised workflow.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple drawings simultaneously.
• Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
• Customer service oriented.
