CAD Technician - Full Time - Aberdeen, United Kingdom

This substantial investment has elevated Ellon into a vibrant service centre, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by a dedicated team.Our advanced facility is fully capable of overhauling electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and turbo-compressors, delivering exceptional support to the oil & gas, power generation, and renewable sectors.
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician with the ambition to develop re-engineering skills to join our team at the Ellon facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precise design and documentation of rotating machinery components, contributing to our high standards of service and continuous improvement.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Measure and inspect components to determine the optimal repair methods based on client requirements, using the FARO Arm and associated software for complex component surveys.
- Conduct 3D scanning of components and produce accurate manufacturing drawings from scan data.
- Collaborate with the Technical Quality Supervisor and Technical Quality department to assist with engineering upgrades and improvements.
- Generate high-precision drawings using Auto CAD and Inventor software packages, ensuring efficiency and adherence to business needs.
- Manage the drawing office and Equipment History record system to ensure the traceability of drawings and upgrades.
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and component drawings for fabrication and complex component projects.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proficiency in Auto CAD and Inventor software packages.
- Experience with 3D scanning and component measurement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and provide technical support.
- Experience in a similar role within a workshop or engineering environment is advantageous.
