Job Title: Project Engineer
Salary: To: £60,000 per annum (Dependant upon skills and experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)Location: Walsall/Cambridge
South Staffs Water is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our professional and trusted CapitalInvestment team to support the delivery of our Asset Management Plan.
The role requires a talented Project Engineer who is self- motivated, provides technical support to the project management
process, to ensure the efficient delivery of capital projects and other business activities in accordance with business
procedures, offer technical guidance and advice to key project stakeholders, both internally and externally to the business, enabling the smooth delivery of any investment
The Role
The successful Project Engineer will be responsible for Delivery of Capital Projects and other business activities to agreed scopewithin time, cost and quality constraints. Achieving the required/predicted levels of efficiency with respect to capex and opex
through the process of innovation and appreciation of new developments and processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop engineering knowledge
- Promote new technologies that deliver capital and operating efficiencies
- Provision of technical support in specialist areas
- Understanding of role of ECC Supervisor.
- Gain thorough operational knowledge and understanding
- Monitor quality and suitability of new installations
- Manage and develop engineering standards and specifications
- Ensure consistent application of SSW/CAM standards and specifications
- Represent the interests of the PM/User on site and at Value Management/Technical workshops
- Provide technical support to highly complex, high risk projects and other business activities internal and external to Asset
- Co–ordinate site training for operational personnel
- Ability to carry out role of ECC Supervisor as required by your line manager.
- Training, motivating, coaching, and correcting employees to meet standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Specifically Operational team leaders and operators, framework
- Advise project teams, ensuring application acceptance management procedures
- Support project and junior personnel in managing risks associated with acceptance management
- Advise key stakeholders regarding technical issues, standards and specifications etc
- Provide feedback on supplier performance
- Ensure stakeholder needs are met by application of SSW/CAM standards and specifications
- Provide feedback from the lessons learned by the acceptance management process
- Challenge the suitability and practicality of standards and specifications
- Display a positive attitude when presented with new challenges
What You’ll Need
The successful candidate will have:
- A full UK driving license
- Educated to degree level or a minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering
- Technically qualified with considerable experience and exceptional performance
- Experience in capital delivery within the water sector delivering projects
- In depth knowledge of the construction design management regulations
- Excellent knowledge and experience in customer management as well as external stakeholders
