Are you wanting to develop your career as a band 6 physiotherapist within Cardio-respiratory, in an acute teaching Trust environment. We have an exciting development post within the cardio-respiratory team.

A permanent vacancy has arisen in our well established Rotational Cardio-respiratory rotations. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, active team player with good communication skills, who enjoys working with acute and chronic respiratory patients providing rehabilitation and respiratory skills, to join our dedicated teams.

This post will either be a training post to start your career off as a band 5 Respiratory Physiotherapist with a structured competency based work programme to achieve re-banding to band 6 within 9-12 months or a Senior post at band 6 with previous experience.

  • To support the clinical therapy team leader and clinical specialist and operational functions of the team and supervise team members.
  • To promote independence and facilitate optimum function, working with patients, families and carers and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve agreed outcomes for patients.
  • To increase and consolidate existing clinical knowledge and skills in respiratory assessment and treatment as a physiotherapist.
  • To participate in service development and audit/research.
  • To maintain high, professional standards of verbal and written communication for self and staff for whom responsible.
  • To promote and maintain good working relationships and communication with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team and other Physiotherapists regarding the provision of treatment of patients.
  • To liaise with Social Services and other agencies as appropriate according to patient needs.
  • To attend ward rounds, case conferences and multi-disciplinary team meetings as required.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
