Job overview
An exciting new role to join the Colorectal Team at Poole Hospital to train as a Colorectal Administration/HCA role has become available to support the Nurse Led Service.
The successful candidate will support the nurse led fast track service ensuring the patients pathway is smooth and completed in an appropriate time frame. The successful candidate will have goodcommunication and computer skills, able to construct, complete and update databases, organise appointments and manage admins tasks such as typing dictations. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to complete some basic nursing care tasks, by supporting the ANP
Team in Face-to-Face clinics, ensuring the clinics run smoothly, chaperoning patient examinations and supporting patients with further investigations such as blood tests and gaining prescriptionsfrom pharmacy. It is essential they can work as part of a team and on their own initiative. Supporting the fast-track service will be their priority but the service needs developing to include appropriate non-urgent referrals.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- To be educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standard with a pass in English and mathematics.
- Basic computer and keyboard skills
- NVQ 3 or working towards in health and social care/customer service and administration or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous experience of working in an acute care setting within a busy hospital environment.
- Experience of clerical duties in an office/administration environment.
- Willingness to train others.
- Experience of working with a range of different people.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Able to develop skills and knowledge.
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and to work with accuracy when undertaking repetitive tasks.
