The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a growing private-equity backed business as Financial Controller.

Reporting to the Head of Finance / FD in this interesting and agile SME (£20m-£30m turnover bracket) you’ll enjoy a really broad remit – including management accounting, statutory reporting (and year end audit processes), commercial MI and business partnering, team leadership (2-3 direct reports from day one), ad hoc project involvement including M&A activities…
This is an epic springboard for someone who see’s themselves on the road to an FD position down the line. Someone who has a great technical accounting background from audit but also has commercial acumen and an interest in business.
You need great communication skills and ability to bring the reports to life for a non finance audience.
It’s a business that is amid change and growth – you’ll enjoy project involvement alongside the valuable BAU remit.
Required:
- Background within practice – most likely audit experience and ACA qualified.
- Someone looking for a varied finance manager / financial controller role – managing the month and year end reporting and accounting requirements for a growth SME (PE backed).
- Ability to translate the numbers into useful and real-world commentary.
- Excellent organisation and workload management skills.
- Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative setting, someone with the communication and coaching skills to lead a small team.
This will be a rewarding role for someone career focused, someone who perhaps sees themselves as FD of a PE backed business later in their career.
