We are looking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our Maths department as Subject Lead. The successful candidate will have energy, creativity and strong leadership skills. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience of the Maths curriculum, and KS5 experience would be an advantage, although is not essential.
We want our Maths curriculum to continue to develop, to be inspirational, inclusive and informative.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for- Leading the development and implementation of existing and new schemes of learning.
- Leading the development of learning and teaching ensuring it is appropriate and challenging so that all students can fulfil their potential.
- Providing guidance, support, and training for staff to develop their subject knowledge and pedagogy in mathematics.
- Leading continued professional development sessions and fostering a culture of collaboration and continual improvement.
- The smooth administration of assessments, data and reporting, leading aspects of the Quality Assurance programme
- Monitoring and maintaining data so that key cohorts can be identified and supported
- Providing coaching and mentoring to other TLR holders and teachers within the department
- Identifying, challenging and supporting under performances at both student and class level
- Supporting the maths department with behaviour management and liaising with pastoral teams as appropriate
- Promoting initiatives to raise the profile and enjoyment of mathematics within the school.
- Managing the mathematics budget, ensuring resources are current, effective, and fit for purpose.
