An internationally acclaimed company that specialise in the design and manufacture of rail engineering technology providing solutions to track maintenance signalling and stressing problems is looking to hire an experienced Buyer to join their team in Plymouth As a Buyer you will be responsible for - Managing and negotiating related commodities and ensure a high-performance level in terms of quality delivery price and productivity- The daily ordering of goods and services for the site
- Ensuring procurement activities are managed in a professional and cost-effective manner whilst supporting consistency in practices globally
- Increasing profitability and drive the improvement of the overall sourced goods and services under their scope according to strategies defined at the group level
- Managing the supplier base to obtain the necessary improvements to achieve the above and protect the plant against potential unfavourable market trends
- Ensuring logistics supply chain is robust reliable and cost effective for both domestic and international tradeCandidate Specification- 5 to 10 years experience in Purchasing (Technical and Purchasing Expertise (Cost Analysis Purchasing Strategy Negotiation Skills )
- Supplier Management expertise
- Experience in an industrial environment
- Working experience in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite
- Change management experience (Desirable)
- Experience working with MRP systems in sourcing direct and indirect material in an international environment (Desirable)
- University Degree in Engineering or Business (Desirable)
- Purchasing certification (Desirable)
