Our Mathematics Department is dedicated to promoting and motivating progression in all areas of mathematics, providing diverse opportunities for students to engage with challenging concepts and real-world applications. We aim to inspire a lifelong love for Maths and shape the future of our students.

At Claremont, we pride ourselves on our distinctive approach to education, nurturing not only academic excellence but also confidence, initiative, and a strong sense of community.

If you have a passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire young minds, we would love for you to join us. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with excellent support provided. Further maths and A level teaching opportunities are available for suitable candidates.

We would consider both full and part-time applications.

We value diverse teaching methodologies and provide detailed schemes of work to guide the units and skills to be covered. However, we also encourage teachers to develop their own unique teaching styles.

Our Mathematics Department is a vibrant team of 12 full-time and part-time staff members, known for their dedication and impressive academic achievements. Teaching Maths at Claremont is a dynamic and fulfilling experience.

Students receive five periods of Mathematics instruction per week up to GCSE, with class sizes averaging 18 pupils. At AS and A Level, students have seven periods per week, with small groups of around ten students.

Benefits include a very generous defined contribution scheme which offers teachers flexibility around both employer and employee contribution levels, a generous discount on school fees (for eligible staff), cycle to work scheme as well as complimentary lunches and refreshments during term-time*.

  • Please refer to the benefits section under our “working at Claremont” page of our website.

Further details of the role can be found under the ‘Working at Claremont’ section on our website: www.claremontfancourt.co.uk

To apply, please complete our application form via the apply button.

Completed applications should be returned to jobs@claremont.surrey.sch.uk

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 19 May 2025.

Interviews will be held soon after the closing date.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are seeking applications from suitable candidates from all backgrounds. We are fully committed to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive working environment free from discrimination where staff feel valued and respected.

We value individuality and diversity and believe in equal opportunity for everyone, irrespective of age, disability, gender identity, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or socio-economic background.

Claremont Fan Court School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
