[ref. r776516] Cambridge - Manufacturing/ Assembly Technician
To succeed the candidate will require the ability to follow well defined processes, demonstrate good electro-mechanical assembly skills, can adapt to changing demands and communicate well within a small team.
Responsibilities
Assembly and Packing: Assembly, Testing and Packing of Owlstone product ranges using the relevant QMS documentation; including hardware and a variety of breath biopsy kits.
Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning of parts required for assemblies using solvents in an ultrasonic bath.Shipping: Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure packages are ready for collection and daily shipping of a variety of Breath Biopsy kits.
Quality Control: Inspect incoming goods and finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including quantities produced, materials used, and any issues encountered (manual and on an MRP system).
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of assembly materials and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.

Experience -
Prior experience in a small to medium volume, high value electro-mechanical manufacturing or assembly environment. Experience in manually building or assembling items that require repetitive tasks to be completed with a high attention to detail.Ability to accurately record clear and concise data (manually or through PC)
Knowledge -
Demonstrable knowledge of Quality Management System and the ability to follow relevant processes/procedures accurately. Experience of logging and cording on an MRP system.
Education –
GCSE Level Standard or equivalent
