About the Role:Are you passionate about supporting students' learning and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Redcar. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and students across various subjects, ensuring an inclusive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them with their learning and development.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored assistance as needed.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor student progress and report any concerns or achievements to teaching staff.
- Contribute to the overall development of students, fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting (preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A genuine passion for supporting students’ learning and development.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Suitable references to support your application.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Experience or qualification in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- A Level or equivalent in education, childcare, or a related field.
