About the Role

We are delighted to be seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for September 2025. We are looking for an exceptional leader who will be integral in driving school improvement to enable us to achieve our vision of excellence in learning- achievement for all.

In this role, you'll support the Headteacher with the general management and running of the school, while also advising the Deputy Headteacher and Senior Team on matters of process, policy, and strategy, particularly with regard to the quality of education.

Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher and the senior leadership team, you'll help to strategically lead the school’s curriculum Intent, Implementation, and Impact, supporting and challenging Subject Leaders and the wider team to ensure that our students enjoy and achieve during their time at school and maximise their academic potential.

Your Responsibilities

As an Assistant Headteacher, you'll contribute to the ongoing development of Teaching and Learning, enabling teachers to continue developing evidence-informed expertise and sustaining exceptional student outcomes. Part of your responsibility will be to support a rigorous quality assurance process that upholds consistently high standards.

You'll also take an active role in leading the Curriculum team, which includes a Deputy Headteacher, Subject Leaders, and a team of Curriculum Support Staff.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the culture and ethos of the school. By embedding cultural expectations and structures, you’ll help ensure that students strive for Academic Excellence while demonstrating our values of aspire, believe and belong.

Together with the Headteacher and the Leadership Team, you'll be a key driver of school improvement, working to ensure that a strong, positive culture supports and enhances outstanding academic performance.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate clear leadership and vision, along with the ability to develop strong and positive relationships with all colleagues across the school. Proven leadership experience in a school setting and excellence as a subject teacher are essential.

Passion, determination, resilience, humour, emotional intelligence, and the capacity for agile and strategic thinking are also required. Importantly, it is expected that you will engage in wider research and reading, showing a willingness and ability to reflect, continue learning, and consistently complete work to a high standard.
