Job Description
As the Operations Finance Manager, you will:
- Take full ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for the manufacturing and distribution departments.
- Lead the monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and performance metric reporting.
- Chair monthly review meetings with key stakeholders, providing strategic insight and recommendations.
- Build detailed finance packs to support business partners and drive decision-making.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure alignment between financial and operational plans.
- Oversee financial appraisals of new capital investments, submitting for Board approval.
- Attend regular operational meetings, providing critical financial insights.
- Set internal transfer prices for all manufactured products.
- Evaluate purchase price variances for all input costs in manufacturing and distribution.
- Manage interim and full-year stock counts in collaboration with external auditors.
- Partner with 3rd-party logistics providers to ensure budget adherence and cost optimisation.
- Take responsibility for HMRC excise and deferred duty ledgers, reporting, and compliance.
- Audit internal teams regularly for stock accuracy and value.
- Support the buying process for raw and packaging materials with price and contract evaluations.
- Monitor utility consumption and provide regular insights into forecast demand.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for this Operations Finance Manager will be a high calibre, qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, or supply chain finance. You will bring:
- Demonstrable experience with financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a commercial setting.
- A proactive and analytical mindset with a strong commercial understanding.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar financial systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- The ability to influence and lead strategic decisions through effective business partnering.
- Exposure to Consumer Finance, Retail Operations, or Manufacturing industries is desirable.
