Location/Area: Highfields South Landfill, Lichfield Road, Walsall, WS9 9AH

Basic Salary + Bonus: Competitive salary plus bonus earning potential

Enovert is one of the UK’s leading providers of waste management services. Our primary operations include 7 operational landfill sites, 3 composting facilities and 2 waste transfer stations across which Enovert manages in excess of 2.3 million tonnes of waste per annum.

Enovert is also a significant generator of renewable energy, primarily based on the extraction of gas from our landfill sites. Enovert’s sites produce approximately 194 GWh of electricity each year – enough electricity to power 75,000 homes.

Enovert also provide specialist services for the management and aftercare of landfill sites including site environmental engineering, environmental monitoring, site restoration, landfill gas management and utilisation plus the development of closed sites for green space and renewable energy projects.

We’re seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor to lead our team at Highfields South, stepping into a key replacement role to uphold and elevate the operational standards of our waste management facilities. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining exceptional efficiency, safety, and compliance across all waste management activities, ensuring our facilities operate to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Leadership & Compliance: Supervise daily operations across designated sites, acting as the relief Co TC holder, and ensure compliance with all permits, ISO standards, and legislation.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage site rosters and resources to ensure efficient deployment of personnel, equipment, and plant for daily tasks.
  • Team & Visitor Oversight: Supervise site operatives, weighbridge staff, contractors, and suppliers, stepping in to provide support when needed.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee waste reception, tipping operations, and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring leachate and gas management systems are inspected, maintained, and recorded.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Proactively manage Health & Safety for all personnel, contractors, and visitors on-site, working with Compliance on safety practices and responding to audits and incidents.
  • Environmental Compliance: Maintain high standards in environmental compliance, working closely with regulatory bodies during inspections and overseeing engineering projects.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure productive, safe disposal operations, fostering positive relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Project & Risk Management: Oversee site projects, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and all necessary safety protocols.
  • Training & Maintenance: Ensure team training and equipment maintenance are up-to-date and compliant, including PUWER and LOLER requirements.
  • Support Site Management: Act as deputy Site Manager when required, providing 7-day rotational coverage to support operations.
  • Commercial Contribution: Collaborate on budget setting and seek commercial opportunities to boost revenue.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven Industry Expertise – You bring at least two years of hands-on experience in a similar role and hold a valid Certificate of Technical Competence—both essential for success in this position.
  • Industry Knowledge & Safety Awareness – Experienced in relevant industry practices, with a focus on health, safety, and operational compliance.
  • Frontline Leadership – Motivates and guides team members, addressing challenges and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Practical Problem Solving & Organisation – Skilled in resolving issues promptly and keeping tasks organised to maintain smooth daily operations.
  • Communication & Relationship Building – Communicates effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders, building positive relationships.
  • Adaptable & Budget-Conscious – Flexible with changing needs, making decisions that align with budget and team goals.
  • Tech Proficient – Competent in Microsoft Office, using technology to streamline tasks and increase productivity.

  • Ready to Travel Locally – Holds a full UK driving license and is prepared to travel between sites as needed.
