History Teacher
There may also be opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. This role begins June 2025.
Duties as a History Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging history lessons that cater to students of all abilities
- Develop students’ analytical, research, and critical thinking skills through historical inquiry
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to bring historical events and concepts to life
- Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Humanities department
- Support students in achieving their academic potential, including those preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages discussion and independent learning
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and educational visits linked to history
Ideal History Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in History or a related subject
- Experience teaching history at secondary level, with knowledge of the national curriculum and exam specifications
- A passion for history and the ability to engage and inspire students
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations for all learners as a History Teacher.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
