Job overview
  1. To assist qualified staff in undertaking personal care duties for patients.
  2. To report patient condition to qualified staff.
  3. To seek clarification from trained staff whenever the post holder is uncertain about their responsibilities or duties at any time.

Main duties of the job

Provide reassurance and support to patients and carers/family.

Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records maintained.

Report any concern regarding patient care.

Be able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical area and able to adhere to them.

Ensure appropriate information is available on the ward for patients and visitors in relation to health promotion.

The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and health service businesses in accordance with Trust Confidentiality Policy and the Data Protection Act.

  • Educated to GCSE/GCE O Level (or equivalent) English and Maths or demonstrate experience in similar role
