Hub Scheduler

Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday

Location: Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire (NG22)

Via is currently looking for two Hub Schedulers to join our Business Services & Transformation Team based at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

You will provide a wide range of technical and administrative tasks in the scheduling and programming of operational planned works in an efficient manner.

The Job
Key areas of responsibility will include: -
  • Schedule reactive, programmed and emergency works to ensure sufficient workload is allocated to operational resources.
  • Triage defect notifications and allocate work, using an asset and works management system.
  • Submit roadwork permits and applications ensuring information is accurate, compliant and timely to meet deadlines.
  • Arrange sub-contractors to assist in the delivery of work when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other service delivery teams to ensure that works information is received within agreed timeframes.
  • Comply with internal and external standards of statutory responsibilities, duties, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the input and management of data associated with attendance to incidents on the network to maintain detailed manual and electronic records to support cost recovery.
  • Provide flexible support during adverse weather events to maintain a consistent and high-quality service.

The Person

Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Business Services & Transformation Team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you: -
  • Knowledge gained through practical experience in a works programming/scheduling environment
  • Experience of working in a highways related environment is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and the internet.
  • Experience of dealing with internal and external customers in person, via email or over the phone.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and numeracy skills
