Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in a dual role that combines clinical practice with digital innovation. This role sits at the intersection of pharmacy and digital services, providing a unique opportunity to influence the development, deployment, and optimisation of digital prescribing systems, particularly TPP SystmOne, including utilisation of Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) and inpatient prescribing functionality across the Urgent Treatment Centres.
The postholder will work collaboratively with pharmacy colleagues, clinicians and digital services teams including Application Management, IT Training and Information Governance to ensure the safe, effective, and user-friendly implementation of digital prescribing solutions.In addition to digital responsibilities, the role includes protected clinical time to maintain direct patient care activities and clinical pharmacy skills.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Informatics- The utilisation and optimisation of TPP SystmOne across various clinical areas and specialities
- Provide input into the design, testing, and deployment of digital prescribing systems
- Support the rollout and configuration of EPS and prescribing functionality within SystmOne
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of training materials and user guides for prescribers, pharmacy teams, and wider clinical staff
- Participate in system upgrades, testing new functionalities, identifying bugs, and supporting issue resolution
- Act as a digital champion, promoting best practices in digital prescribing & medication safety through system use
- Ensure that clinical safety and medicines governance are at the forefront of all digital developments
- Represent pharmacy and clinical informatics in relevant working groups & stakeholder meetings
- Work as an active member of the clinical pharmacy team to deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services
- Participate in MDT ward rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making for safe and effective medicines use
- participate in the pharmacy department’s weekend and bank holiday rota, providing clinical and/or dispensary services
- participate in the pharmacy department’s on-call rota, providing remote or on-site support for urgent medicines-related queries and clinical advice

Qualifications / Professional Registration
Essential criteria- First degree - Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy or equivalent qualification and/or experience
- Previous pre-registration training
- Relevant post-registration hospital experience
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- IT skills to at least ECDL standard or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development to at least meet the mandatory requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Counci
- Independent Prescriber, or commitment to achieving this on appointment
