Role as Lead Practitioner of English
As a lead practitioner, you will play a key role in raising standards of teaching and learning in English across the school. You will support staff development, drive innovative teaching strategies, and ensure excellent student outcomes through high-quality curriculum delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Teaching English across key stages 3 to 5, leading by example in outstanding classroom practice
- Coaching and mentoring teachers within the English department to enhance their skills and pedagogy
- Leading on curriculum development, ensuring an engaging and challenging programme for all students
- Supporting the implementation of whole-school teaching and learning strategies
- Contributing to professional development sessions, sharing best practices, and delivering training
- Analysing student progress data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions
- Playing a key role in supporting and developing early career teachers and aspiring middle leaders
- A qualified English teacher with QTS
- Experience at M3 or above, with a proven track record of strong teaching and student outcomes
- A passion for developing outstanding teaching and learning practices within English
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire colleagues and students
- A commitment to high standards and innovative approaches to English education
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to contribute effectively to the leadership team
