ROLE OVERVIEW
In this role, the employee will be responsible for the following:
- Drafting and negotiating portfolio manager deal terms
- Reviewing and drafting employment documents, including but not limited to, employment agreements, compensation arrangements, and termination documents
- Assisting with employee relations matters, including internal investigations, document productions, arbitration, and litigation
- Managing outside counsel in various jurisdictions to ensure the firm’s compliance with applicable employment laws
- Skillfully managing both legal and practical business considerations to provide strategic advice
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment, with good judgment regarding when to elevate issues
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
In order to effectively represent the firm and communicate with clients, the employee must be someone who has:
- Strong expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, with a specific focus on employment-related matters
- Practical experience with highly compensated employment negotiations in the financial services industry is preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet/exceed deadline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience negotiating agreements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide sound legal advice
- A high standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Problem solving skills and ability to think on your feet, identify and implement appropriate solutions
- Consistent work ethic through hard work, confidence, and effort
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-6 years PQE experience Experience with UK employment law and contract law is essential
- Experience working in the financial services industry is a plus
- Asset management in-house experience and/or knowledge of UK, European regulated entities and/or US securities laws is a plus
