Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Year 2 - Full-TimeLocation: Plymouth We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 child in a mainstream primary school in Plymouth. This is a full-time position, requiring a compassionate, adaptable individual who is skilled at supporting students with additional needs. The role involves working closely with a child who requires extra assistance in the classroom, as they can become dysregulated and need support to stay focused and complete tasks. We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, identify early signs of disengagement, and implement creative strategies to maintain and encourage the child's learning and development. Key responsibilities include:
- Building a positive and supportive relationship with the student while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Using effective behaviour management techniques to address and de-escalate challenging situations.
- Supporting the child in completing classroom tasks and fostering their engagement in learning activities.
All candidates will need an enhanced DBS on the update service and will undergo a suitability interview for the role.
