Job description

As Information Security Manager, you will play an important role in securing the VCA’s digital services and information. You will be responsible for creating and reviewing security policy documentation, overseeing the information security audit process and analysing audit data to make recommendations on how the Agency can ensure information remains secure; conforming to processes, procedures and regulations.

A confident and clear communicator, in-person and written, you will support user awareness and training sessions to ensure cyber security remains at the forefront of information handling across the Agency. Where incidents do occur, you will lead on investigations into this activity and action any lessons learned from these to improve the Agency’s resilience and protection against future threats.

Furthermore, you will report key information security activities to the VCA senior leadership team, work with partners and suppliers to ensure security requirements are reflected in contracts and deliverables, and you will be a key member of the VCA’s Information Security Management Group.

Working in a fast-paced environment, with UK and overseas offices, your days will be varied. As a core member of the Digital Services and Technologies Team, you will be involved in many projects at one time. You will need to manage your workload and conflicting deadlines, working flexibly to account for any unplanned activity.

You will be forward-thinking with excellent customer service skills and the ability to see the bigger picture; contributing ideas for innovative and effective ways of working.
