Summary

In this role, you will be contributing towards technology that helps our customers make the world safer and fairer. Our goal is to make products that our clients find indispensable, helping them run their operations seamlessly and efficiently.

We are seeking a skilled Technical Report Analyst with expertise in Jasper Reports, Power BI, SQL, and software development skills. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust reporting solutions to deliver critical business insights.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of business intelligence tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Report Development and Maintenance:

  • Design and develop dynamic reports using Jasper Reports and Power BI to support business decision-making.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures to retrieve and manipulate data for reporting purposes.
  • Optimise existing reports for performance, usability, and data accuracy.

Data Analysis and Visualisation:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective dashboards and reports.
  • Create visually appealing and intuitive data dashboards and visualisations in Power BI to communicate trends, insights, and KPIs.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.

System and Tool Integration:

Integrate reporting solutions with other business systems and applications to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Work with APIs and custom scripts to automate data extraction and transformation processes.

Software Development:

  • Develop and maintain custom scripts or applications to support advanced reporting functionalities.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to report generation, performance, or data discrepancies.
  • Implement best practices in coding, version control, and documentation.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on reporting tools and systems.
  • Document report specifications, data sources, and development processes for future reference.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in reporting tools, business intelligence, and data visualisation.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities and streamline processes.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Expertise in Jasper Reports and Power BI for report design and development.
  • Proficiency in SQL for writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript) for custom report enhancements.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and database management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • C.2-4 years of experience in a reporting, business intelligence, or software development role.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
