As a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist, you will lead and support the implementation, development, and optimisation of digital health solutions across UHBW. This role involves collaborating with clinical teams, IT professionals, and other key stakeholders to design and enhance medication-related workflows, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and evidence-based.

Main duties of the job
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the implementation and optimisation of electronic prescribing (EPMA) systems.
- Work directly with clinical teams to streamline and improve medication workflows.
- Provide expert guidance on the safe use of digital health tools and ensure alignment with best practices.
- Analyse data to enhance patient safety and drive informed decision-making.
- Be a key player in UHBW’s digital transformation journey, collaborating with digital services, clinical staff, and leadership.
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Strong background in hospital clinical pharmacy.
- Knowledge of EPMA systems, digital health technology, and informatics principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria- Masters degree in Pharmacy.
- Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Postgraduate certificate (or equivalent) in Clinical Pharmacy.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Membership of a recognised professional Pharmacy body
- Membership of the British Computer Society
- Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent in Clinical Pharmacy
- Independent Prescriber
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Problem identification and solving.
- Evidence of ability to complete work on time
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload of self and others.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own and others’ work to meet agreed deadlines.
- Ability to use judgement to challenge inappropriate prescribing and influence prescribing decisions to enable optimal therapy.
- Knowledge of the legal framework for the dispensing, prescribing and administration of medicines.
- Knowledge of basic medicines information and critical appraisal techniques .
- Highly computer literate e.g. advanced word processing, use of spread sheets and presentations, report writing.
- Influencing skills.
- Ability to critically analyse prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, clinical risk, cost-effectiveness, adherence to local & national guidance and legality.
- Knowledge of the common conditions encountered in area of practice and of safe & appropriate drug treatments.
- Knowledge of the legal framework in England for the dispensing, prescribing and administration of medicines.
- Understanding of medical and nursing practice, record keeping and terminology.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to critically analyse different approaches to problem solving in a project environment.
- Ability to manage own workload to maximise productivity when working remotely/home-based working.
- Clinical and / or service audit
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Evidence of UK patient facing pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrates experience working with EPMA systems.
- Demonstrates experience working with Digital clinical systems.
- In depth understanding, and experience, applying audit as a tool for improvement
- Experience leading one-to-one, small group teaching, and lecturing.
- Demonstrates relevant experience of project working and responsibility for delivering on project objectives, including benefits realisation.
- Demonstrates experience in project leadership.
- Demonstrates experience in critical care environment.
