Early Years Educator Apprentice (Apprenticeship)

As a Level 3 apprentice working in the baby room your duties and responsibilities will include:
To meet children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs by providingstimulating and age-appropriate play and learning opportunities in the classroom, as
directed by the Headteacher.
To supervise the children where appropriate and to protect them from dangerous orharmful situations, as directed by the Headteacher.
- To provide a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and
- Carry out observations (as required) in order to establish that the children’s general
- To support and develop the provision of a variety of outdoor activities to cover all
weathers.
- To act as a key person to a small group of children.
- To assist in the preparation of snacks and meals, set up and clear away meal times
- To liaise with parents/carers about their children’s needs & to inform parents/carers
comment.
- To be aware of any special needs a child may have and informing other staff as
- To offer support and guidance to volunteers, students on placements and work
- To keep informative, accurate and up-to-date records, including any behavioural or
- To share progress of key person children and contribute to the planning of activities
- To contribute to and attend his/her supervisions and staff appraisal.
- To attend and contribute at regular staff/team meetings.
- To share any child protection concerns immediately with the Safeguarding Leader.
- To liaise with other senior staff, where appropriate.
- To cover other rooms at short notice and be prepared to move rooms on a permanent

Training
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. La Chouette will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:- Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through La Chouttes dedicated training provider, Realise.
