The Project Manager is the focal point for all client project interfaces, strongly managing safety, commercial and reputation risk issues and working co-operatively and productively with internal and external partners to ensure maximum use of project resources, technical integrity, operational efficiency, quality assurance, and safe and successful completion of projects.

With full responsibility for P&L, safety, quality and performance targets for the project, this position will be responsible for implementation and execution of all the principles and actions associated to Project management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work in accordance with defined Company QHS&E Management Systems and be aware of H&S responsibilities to you and to others.
  • To be the focal point for all Client project interfaces throughout the contract life and to develop and maintain regular communication and positive working relationships with clients.
  • To participate in the tendering and proposals function to ensure that the broadest knowledge base is used to comprehensively assess and meet Customer requirements and market constraints.
  • To assist in the final stages of any contract negotiations for familiarisation purposes, assessing resource requirements and arranging internal allocation or external procurement.
  • To champion all aspects of service quality and technical delivery of projects, managing assigned projects such that projects are properly controlled throughout all phases of execution, project budgets are met, resources are effectively scheduled and utilised and that client expectations are delivered.
  • To prepare all project deliverables, inc. project related (schedules, procedures, plans etc.) and financial (revenue / expenditure profiles and cash flows).
  • To ensure that all company corporate, statutory, and local HSE policies and processes are followed along with any client specific requirements.
  • To provide visible, pro-active HSE leadership, in particular, ensure that incident reporting, risk assessment and safe methods of work are followed.
  • To closely monitor project performance, setting proper controls for efficient review and reporting, identifying and managing risks, monitoring operational performance against the agreed timescales, and taking preventive/correction action where appropriate to ensure compliance with budgetary, contract and schedule requirements.
  • To be responsible for all financial aspects of the project including implementation / establishment of systems to regularly review costs, invoicing, and cash collection and to be the principal driver in prompt sales invoicing and stringent debt collection to ensure cash flow goals are achieved.
  • To be familiar with and be responsible for contractual aspects of the management and execution of services provided ensuring that client expectations are met, and that services and/or equipment are provided in compliance with contract obligations within agreed timescales and that any issues or omissions are addressed and rectified in a timely manner.
  • To manage multi-functional project team, ensuring project requirements and timescales are fully understood and achieved by the functions supporting the project including resource planning, equipment preparation and mobilisation, applications engineering, infield operations, data analysis and customer reporting, purchasing and project accounts.
  • To identify business opportunities (with existing and potential clients) and develop such opportunities in consultation with the Commercial department.
  • Communication and reporting of Project status, events, issues, and developments to Senior Management and/or client as required on a regular and timely basis.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate and work with relevant departments to ensure effective and timely support to each project.
  • To assist in the development / improvement of technical and business processes.
  • To work with and provide support to the rest of the Project management team, including direct support in management / co-ordination of resources to reflect departmental and organisation priorities.
Requirements
  • Must demonstrate advanced negotiation, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Advanced understanding of internal and external economic factors such as costs, margins, and profit impact of decisions affecting the company results and display a strong business acumen.
  • Must demonstrate effective report writing, presentation skills, strong organisation skills, and project planning ability.
  • Experience in Project Management within the subsea industry.
  • AMP or similar qualification is desirable.
