An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Team Leader in our Urgent Suspected Cancer team within the Patient Services Centre based at Southampton General Hospital. This role will require you to be responsible for managing our cohort of patients referred on a suspected cancer pathway and assigning daily tasks to your team of administrators to ensure they are appointing patients who have been referred in on 28 day FDS pathway (Faster Diagnostic Service) timeframe alerting the leadership team and care groups of capacity demands that may prevent this.

We are committed to ensuring that these patients are within a 7-10 day timeframe to support the Trust delivery of diagnosis at day 28 of the patient pathway in line with the National Cancer targets.

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.

Due to the nature of this role and service, this role is on-site and the hours are as advertised.

Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need, and we will explore what’s possible for the role and service.

UHS employees are able to access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
