Transport trader/Broker
Location: Burbage, Hinkley, LE10.
Salary: £34,000 per annum rises to £36,000 per annum after completion of probationary period (6months)
Days of work: Monday-Friday
Start time: Between 07:00-09:00 (9hr shifts)
Hours of work: 45hours per week (including 30min paid break)
About the company:Our client is a privately owned 4PL logistics business located in Logix Park, Hinkley LE10. They specialise in providing and managing transport solutions to a wide range of customers in the manufacturing, retail and logistics sectors. The loads can vary depending on the customer’s needs, from single pallets all the way to nationwide distribution.
Job Description:We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Transport Trader/Broker to join our client’s operations team within a busy subcontract haulage operation. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with existing customers and converting leads to bring new business into the company, all the while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development:
- Identify, target, and secure new clients for logistics services.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business growth objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in potential and existing clients.
- Drive new revenue streams by exploring market trends and untapped opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients to maximize service satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure client needs are met.
- Proactively address client concerns and resolve issues to ensure long-term business relationships.
- Sales and Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with clients to secure profitable contracts and agreements.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts for freight services based on client requirements.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs, reporting on progress and outcomes.
- Market Analysis:
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities.
- Conduct research to understand client needs, preferences, and pain points within the logistics space.
- Leverage market insights to tailor services and solutions for potential clients.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with operations, marketing, and other internal teams to deliver integrated and effective solutions for clients.
- Provide regular feedback and market insights to internal teams to improve service offerings and customer experience.
- Reporting and Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, sales pipelines, and client communications.
- Generate and submit regular reports on sales progress, performance, and forecasts to senior management
Must Have Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Business development, sales or Account management within the logistics and/or supply chain industry.
- Knowledge of the transport industry.
- Motivated and pro-active personality that is driven by results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Be fully PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft office and ability to quickly learn other transport management systems/ Trader platforms.
- Ability to meet set targets with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Good geographical Knowledge of the UK
- Right to work in the UK.
- Own Transport of live locally to the LE10 area.
