PURPOSE OF THE ROLE This role is essential to manage the business, performance and digital arm of Continuing Healthcare. The post holder will also have responsibility to manage, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology primarily to support the attainment of Continuing Healthcare performance metrics targets as well as improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and high level initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: To hold responsibility for the non-clinical function of Continuing Healthcare and care sector services. Produce and present regular, presentations data reports as required; and be responsible for data validity for the Continuing Healthcare service.
The post holder will have overall responsibility for managing the collation, analysis and presentation of monthly Key Performance Indicator performance data. These performance reports currently provide both the CHC Management Team and NHS Somerset ICB with an understanding of the current level of performance output achieved by the CHC team on a monthly and quarterly basis against the NHS England Key Performance Indicators.
The post holder will also be required to work with and be directed by the Associate Director and Head of Continuing Healthcare to deliver on the attainment of key financial and performance initiatives as well as leading on other service & continuous improvements areas for the Continuing Healthcare team.
The post holder will hold responsibility for the management of variety of digital data systems within the Continuing Healthcare team. This will include ensuring that all data pathways are accurate and efficiently maintained, thus ensuring our ability to provide required national and regional benchmarking information to NHS England.
The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the non-clinical arm of the CHC Team managers and the role will also include the managing and monitoring of the day to day functions associated with these positions. To work directly with the Finance Lead where appropriate to support reporting on keys areas of performance, including benchmarking activities for both regional and national data sets.
To provide high quality project, service, initiative and support to the assessment and leadership team including analysis relating to the attainment of QIPP targets. To provide the CHC Management Team with innovative service improvements options that will drive continuous improvement forward.
To support wider service improvement measures within the directorate and wider ICB as directed. To manage, maintain and develop administrative services within the Continuing Healthcare Team which will underpin clinical and business performance including clinicians and administrative staff, developing the team in order to provide an effective service.
The post holder will be required to have an excellent knowledge of specialised IT systems and platforms as well as being trained to an advanced level on all of the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint). To be able to manipulate and evaluate complex data using various statistical techniques, produce board level reports and be competent to present these when required.
To ensure that all data collation and analysis for the entirety of the Continuing Healthcare Team that supports and adheres to governance requirements. Develop CHC efficiency reports to inform and assure ICB leadership as to attainment progress.
To develop and establish a collaborative working relationship with Somerset ICBs performance and Business Intelligence teams, with the aim to improve communication, processes and shared intelligence. Participate in relevant wider ICB working groups/projects, services, and initiatives to provide, information and analytical advice to strategic leads.
Communicate information and issues, including briefings and reports to any party of interest both internal and external to the ICB. Maintaining awareness of strategic developments within the Somerset system and implementing associated change within own sphere of responsibility.
Communicate business sensitive information from NHS staff at all levels of the organisation as required. Develop and implement business processes which impact across the CHC service delivery. Reporting any concerns or presenting risks in a timely and effective manner to the Associate Director and/or the Head of Continuing Healthcare and interpret and explain these effectively to senior staff.
