Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) is playing a central role in one of the most ambitious urban growth projects in the UK. As an independent entity created by Milton Keynes City Council, MKDP is tasked with driving forward transformative placemaking projects that will support the continued prosperity of the city.
With a focus on developing a range of key areas, MKDP is at the heart of the city's next wave of innovation, delivering new homes, employment opportunities, and vibrant public spaces. Our projects go beyond traditional development—they represent Milton Keynes' ambition to be a leading city in technology, leisure, and education.

With significant investment set to drive these initiatives, this is an exciting time to be part of MKDP’s journey.

We are seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director (NED) to bring strategic expertise and deep industry knowledge to our board. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in city centre regeneration, joint ventures, and large-scale mixed-use developments.
A clear understanding of working with public sector organisations and a broad network of contacts will be crucial. You should have a strong sense of how these complex projects unfold, from planning to execution, and offer fresh insights into joint ventures and placemaking.

This role is ideal for someone who can provide constructive challenge and guidance, complementing the expertise of our team and the rest of the Board, helping to deliver the future ambitions for Milton Keynes.

As an experienced Non-Executive Director, you will be a key player in guiding MKDP’s strategic vision and ensuring the successful delivery of its projects. Your role will involve providing high-level oversight, scrutinising the performance of the executive team, and ensuring that governance and decision-making processes are robust.
You’ll be expected to bring fresh perspectives on joint ventures and placemaking, particularly in relation to the complexities of mixed-use developments. You will use your commercial acumen to balance public sector principles with commerciality, ensuring that MKDP’s activities deliver both financial returns and long-lasting benefits for the community.

A strong commitment to ethics, diversity, and inclusion is essential, as is the ability to navigate a range of stakeholders, from public sector partners to high-profile private entities. Your ability to challenge constructively, offer strategic guidance, and ensure that the executive team remains accountable will be critical to MKDP’s continued success in enabling that Milton Keynes continues to be a successful city.
