Devonport House is a residential life house accommodating 60 homeless individuals. We are seeking flexible, enthusiastic, and reliable people to join our bank of relief general assistant (catering) workers, who help support our existing team as and when required and providing cover for holidays and absence.
Whilst we are not able to guarantee any work, as a busy homeless hostel we are generally able to offer shifts out to all our relief workers on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities of the general assistant (catering) include supplying support and assistance in the preparation of healthy and nutritious food and working as part of the catering team. You will also be required to serve our clients and treat them with courtesy and respect.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
Awareness of current health and safety and environment health and hygiene standards, including COSHH.Relevant cooking experience.
Good customer service and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
Able to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
