We are looking for a dietitian with an interest in working with adults and young people requiring enteral feeding across a range of community settings to join our Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) Team.

This position is a 1.0 WTE, Band 6, 9 month fixed-term post covering maternity leave. The dietitian will be supported to manage a caseload of mostly adults requiring enteral feeding within Nottinghamshire, with an option to develop your experience working with older paediatric patients.

A full induction and ongoing support will be provided.

The dietitian would become a member of the Home Enteral Feeding Community Outreach Team based at Nottingham City Hospital Campus. We are a friendly and supportive team of around 24 staff supporting approximately 800 patients, including children, in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

You would be based at City Hospital campus and once the training period is complete, there will be opportunities for home based working.

The post holder will manage a varied HEF caseload of adult patients and some older children, visiting patients in community settings including patient's homes, day care centres and care homes, schools and colleges.

You'll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within the supportive team.

You will be responsible for a caseload of adults and young people living in the community within Nottinghamshire receiving enteral feeds.

You will be required to review patients at their place of residence or at day centres, nursing homes, schools or colleges. You will be required to drive and have a vehicle to support home and community visits.

You will work closely with the home enteral feeding team, industry partners and care providers within Nottinghamshire.

In addition to being responsible for meeting patients nutritional needs you will be required to support the education, training and management of the feeding tubes /devices and stoma. Full training will be provided for this.

You should have experience of working as a dietitian and preferably have experience of working with enteral feeds. Your will need excellent communication skills, self-motivation, have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and busy workload within a supportive team.
You should also be able to build good working relationships with the wider team within the community in order to provide joined-up care to patients. Nutritional support skills are essential and additional training and support will be provided.

As part of this role you will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
