We are looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager to oversee safety risk management, compliance, and risk governance across the Trust. You will lead the risk management function, ensuring a robust risk register system, providing advice, and managing the compliance team to meet regulatory and commissioner standards.

About You:

  • Educated to Master’s degree level or equivalent, with experience in clinical governance.
  • Vocational qualification in health or management-related subject.
  • Genuine interest in risk and compliance.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the Trust’s success.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Governance, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and maintain the Trust’s risk management systems, ensuring alignment with local, care group, and corporate risk registers.
  • Ensure risk management principles are integrated into Trust policies and strategies.
  • Oversee compliance with national guidelines, including NICE, and manage reporting of the Trust’s compliance status.
  • Manage the distribution and compliance of CAS alerts across the Trust.
  • Lead the clinical guidelines and policy management, including organising policy reviews and meetings.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on all matters of risk and compliance.

Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to masters degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Vocational qualification in health or management related subject
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership, management or risk qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of leading and managing a team
  • Knowledge of healthcare risk management policy and clinical governance; In-depth knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of the wider health and social environment
  • Understanding of the work of key bodies in the field of health accreditation, regulation and risk NHS risk management principles; and NHS (Datix) incident reporting system

  • Ability to motivate, empower and facilitate teams from different professional disciplines to be proactive in risk management

  • Proven track record of analysing, evaluating, and presenting complex data in a concise and understandable way

  • Experience of writing reports and presenting information to committees
