Teacher of Computing
Start date: September 2026Salary: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (suitable for ECTs)
Costello School is meeting the Expected Standard (green) in Every Area – Ofsted, 2026
The Costello School is looking to appoint highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individuals with a desire to improve the life chances of young people through excellent care, teaching and guidance. The successful candidate should have the potential to be an outstanding classroom practitioner (if you aren’t already) with a passion for taking risks, trying new things and reflecting on your own practice in order to improve.
We are seeking a colleague who has a passion for performance and Computing. You would be joining a committed and experienced team who always place the learning and opportunities of our children first. Ability to offer other subjects is advantageous.
We invest heavily in CPD/training and have fantastic links with other schools and professional organisations. New ideas and approaches are welcomed with open arms and coaching is used to unlock potential. We work very closely with our ‘family’ of partner schools and are currently the strategic lead for a unique teaching and learning project. As part of the Bohunt Education Trust, there are plenty of opportunities for support, development and progression.
We have a strong desire to create a unique, innovative and rich educational climate underpinned by co-planning and collaboration between professionals, which has the possibility to lead to additional responsibilities.
If you can:
- Inspire and innovate
- Nurture and develop (yourself as well as others)
- Commit to, and raise further, high achievement and motivation
- Optimise Computing learning for all
Then come and see us. We are looking for potential as much as experience so we welcome applications from ITTs. Here’s just a few reasons why you’d be mad not to:
- Our greatest strength is our people and we work hard to make sure you know that. Colleague wellbeing is very important to us and will always remain a high priority
- Our team is our greatest asset. Colleagues at Costello are supportive, respectful and protective of one another. We are a team that put children first and enable one another to provide the best experiences and opportunities for those within our community
- We strive to ensure that our learning environments are safe, supportive and enable learners the ability to learn in a high quality learning environment, with high quality colleagues
- Planning your lessons is crucial and it’s always easier when we collaborate – we’ve put in place hours of co-planning so that you can share best practice and resources and not have to sit at home doing it on your own
- Our recent Ofsted inspection judged the school to be meeting the Expected Standard in Every Area and noted: “A calm and highly orderly environment where pupils are highly engaged in their learning.” They also recognised the support of Bohunt Education Trust in helping drive continued improvement.
