To start from 1st September 2025, we are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Design and Technology who will inspire and motivate students in our exceptional school based in the beautiful city of Bath. We are seeking an inspirational teacher with high expectations and standards who can stimulate a fascination in the subject both within and beyond the classroom.The successful candidate will have to demonstrate exemplary classroom practice and have a desire to innovate.
Design Technology at Beechen Cliff is a hugely popular subject, boosting some of the best examination results in the school. Uptake for GCSE level courses are consistently strong, with two thirds of the cohort opting to study one or more of the subjects offered.These impressive numbers are the result of an extensive curriculum at KS3 that exposes our students to modern and traditional processes. The Design & Technology (Product Design) A Level course is also offered to ensure a direct pathway to degree courses or vocational opportunities alike.
The Faculty also delivers courses in Hospitality & Catering, Photography and Art & Design. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4 and there may be opportunities for teaching at KS5 in the future.
The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, drama, outdoor activities, debating and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.
