Location: Central London

Salary: £45,00 - £55,000 (Depends On Experience)

An independent, award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their dynamic 8 staff strong civils team in London. Role Overview

The successful candidate will work on technically challenging projects, focusing on delivering results to clients. Reporting to a Partner or Associate, you will be responsible for the production and management of various Civil Engineering projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Manage project production from inception to completion with oversight from a Partner or Associate.
  • Prepare project management plans, appointment documents, financial management, invoice drafting, report writing, calculation, specification, drawing, and PDS/Civil 3D model production.
  • Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to suit client needs.
  • Provide leadership and management to project resources.
  • Make technical and commercial decisions to control exposure to risk with support from the Project Partner.
  • Liaise with co-professionals and clients through meetings and conference calls, contributing to information production and execution programmes.
  • Delegate workload, monitor delivery, and help train and mentor other team members.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience compiling submissions to UK Building Control.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in civil engineering design solutions across highways and drainage design.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of relevant regulations and guidance, including the most up-to-date versions of:
  • Manual for Streets
  • Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
  • Sewers for Adoption
  • SuDS Manual
  • National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
  • Experience with PDS, Micro Drainage, and AutoCAD (Civils 3D preferable).
  • Knowledge and experience of the application of the CDM Regulations.
  • Ability to plan and manage personal and team effectiveness.
  • Competent and confident in giving presentations internally and to clients and co-professionals.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of professional risks, including actions necessary to satisfy the terms of appointments, warranties, and insurances.
