I am supporting a public sector company based in Barrow-in-Furness, seeking a temporary Accounts Assistant. This role offers flexible hours, which can be spread over either 5 days or 3 days per week. We are looking for someone to join the team temporarily to assist with the transition during a new acquisition.Why join us? Your new role
Within your new role, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining precise financial records. Handle the creation, tracking, and management of purchase orders to facilitate smooth procurement processes. Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger, addressing any discrepancies promptly.Actively manage outstanding debts, ensuring timely collections while maintaining positive relationships. Provide essential administrative support to the finance team, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed within this role, you should have prior experience in a similar position, possess strong communication skills, and be either AAT qualified or qualified by experience. Additionally, proficiency in accounting software, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
