Direct Medics is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a 6 month fixed-term contract with the potential to extend. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance while providing strategic insights to assist in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation of the company’s financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed reporting to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, implementing internal controls to mitigate risks.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement.
- Support the senior management team in strategic financial planning and analysis.
- Manage and lead the finance team, ensuring their professional development and performance.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar financial management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and budgeting processes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in accounting software/ Quickbooks / Sage and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
