Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Kitchen Porter/General Assistant in the heart of London, United Kingdom! We're looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to a positive dining experience for our customers.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Support food preparation activities, including basic vegetable and fruit cleaning and cutting
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of kitchen supplies and ingredients
  • Assist in serving food during peak hours and special events
  • Perform general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and efficient operations
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures
  • Help with inventory management and restocking of supplies
  • Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the kitchen management team
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting (desirable)
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including willingness to work evenings and weekends
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
  • Basic food handling and hygiene knowledge
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Additional Information

Hours of work 12.30pm till 2.30pm Monday to Friday, Term time only
