Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Kitchen Porter/General Assistant in the heart of London, United Kingdom! We're looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to a positive dining experience for our customers.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support food preparation activities, including basic vegetable and fruit cleaning and cutting
- Ensure proper storage and organization of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Assist in serving food during peak hours and special events
- Perform general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and efficient operations
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures
- Help with inventory management and restocking of supplies
- Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the kitchen management team
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting (desirable)
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
- Basic food handling and hygiene knowledge
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Effective time management skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Additional Information
Hours of work 12.30pm till 2.30pm Monday to Friday, Term time only
