Job Title Building Surveyor - RailType Contract (12 months)Location ManchesterRate Flexible depending on experience Job Reference BMBUILDSURV About the RoleI am seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to support the delivery of property inspections and asset condition reporting across a diverse portfolio This role plays a critical part in shaping long-term maintenance and renewal strategies ensuring that assets are safe compliant and well-maintained within budgetary constraints Covering the northern corridor from Crewe to Carlisle the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of stations depots and lineside buildings While the base office is in Manchester regular travel across Cumbria is essential and so a vehicle and fuel card will be provided If you re looking to join a dynamic and evolving sector while expanding your professional expertise this opportunity offers exposure to a wide range of building types and asset management challenges Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out annual property inspections and assessments
Report on the condition of various railway assets including operational and non-operational buildings
Support the development of asset management strategies
Contribute to maintenance planning aligned with safety regulations and budget considerations
Work collaboratively with surveyors and engineering teams
Essential RequirementsDegree in Building Surveying or an equivalent recognised qualification
Membership of a relevant professional body (e g RICS CIOB)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Mandatory Safety CompetenciesPTS
ACDC (Alternating Current Direct Current Electrical Systems)
