Academic Graduate Assistant
St George’s School Windsor Castle is seeking a Residential Graduate Assistant - Academic who will also share in the role of Chorister Chaperone for the choristers of St George’s Chapel.
From September 2025 - July 2026 on a fixed term contract.
Role overview
The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Academic staff and the Boarding House team to assist them in ensuring that all students have a positive experience.
Considered as a full member of the teaching staff, the post holder will, dependent on strengths and experiences, utilise these to help with and lead small group academic tasks, manage a school sports team and undertake Boarding House duties.
To encourage independent and adventurous learning in a supportive, secure, and stimulating learning environment. It is expected that Graduate Assistants inject energy and enthusiasm in all that they do.
Specific responsibilities
Support for students- Support student learning, working alongside the teachers, teaching assistants and the Learning Enrichment Department.
- Setting high expectations whilst encouraging students to interact and work collaboratively
- Work closely with teachers to assist in the development and delivery of lessons
- Work with groups under the direction of the teacher
- Assist in behaviour management and to support students in their learning objectives
- Supervise students during break and lunch duties
- Assist with pastoral care
- Participate in the Co-curricular Programme
Graduate Assistants report to the House Parents, with additional reporting lines relevant to their specific role (in this case, the Head of Prep School).
The Graduate Assistants will be appraised annually by the House Parents
