The Role:
The role of a Family Support Worker is a challenging and varied role where no two days are the same
The purpose of the Family Support Worker is to empower families to address the various challenges that they face in their lives to reduce the risk of harm to childrenAs a Family Support Worker, you will work within the Safeguarding Service in Children's Social Care supporting our children’s social workers to provide intense, targeted family support to vulnerable disadvantaged children and young people and their families / carers, to enable children to live happily at home
In your role as a Family Support Worker, you will deliver a range of direct work programmes and outcome focused support within a community settingOur Family Support Worker’s attend children and young people’s reviews, planning meetings and child protection conferences, making positive contributions working with multi-agencies to improve outcomes
Within the role as a Family Support Worker you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with practice standards
You, as the Family Support Worker will contribute to the creative and innovative planning and organisation of an appropriate range of resources working alongside other partner agencies to support and improve attendance at school, reduce drug/alcohol use, seek mental health support, avoid homelessness and attend health appointments
