The Opportunity
This role forms part of the Volume Forecasting Systems team. The team are responsible for re-platforming and enhancing our Volume Forecasting systems onto the cloud to further enable our market leading performance. The wider Volume Forecasting team are responsible for generating electricity and gas forecasts for our B2C and B2B customers as well as forecasting the generation output from one of the largest UK PPA renewable portfolios including wind turbines, solar and hydro stations.
As the Volume Forecasting Systems Senior Analyst, you will work with data engineers and the experienced Volume Forecasting user team to help shape a cutting-edge system underpinned by cleverly designed and robust operational processes.

What you’ll be doing
- Analyse data and processes from existing systems, and complex requirements from users.
- Recommend evolution and simplification to maximise forecast accuracy whilst minimising operational workload.
- Liaise with developers and users to land development work and turn your ideas into reality.
- Write Tableau reports to support business operations, monitoring and KPI metrics of the new system.
- Ensure new learning and ways of working are embedded in the VF team.
- Run business critical operations to support the team when required.
Who you are
As a Volume Forecasting Systems Senior Analyst, you will have experience in translating business requirements for development in a project environment and demonstrate strong numerical, analytical, and modelling skills such as time series analysis and regression.
You’ll demonstrate a positive outlook with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be open, honest, and transparent with your communication style ensuring you actively share information and knowledge.Coding skills and familiarity with Snowflake and Amazon Web Services in desirable, but not essential, as is experience of modelling/analysis within the UK energy market, particularly of electricity volume.
