National Account Manager - Intermediary protection sales
Location: Predominantly field-based with some working from home. Occasional travel to Head Office (Bristol).
Full-time hours: Monday to Friday: 35 hours/week.
Salary: £50-60,000 plus bonus , expected to earn 40% in bonus
Purpose of Role:
The key purpose of this role is to lead strategic planning and actions to expand distribution, with a primary focus on networks and key accounts. By building relationships with new distribution partners, the aim is to generate an increasing number of new business sales across the UK in line with sales targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales and Support- Serve as the lead point of contact for all matters related to networks and key accounts.
- Identify and approach new networks/key accounts to act as agents for selling insurance/investment products.
- Develop new business relationships with intermediaries, ensuring Terms of Business are signed and recorded.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to create strategic campaigns to engage new business partners.
- Provide input to distribution plans, product development, and marketing to achieve strategic objectives and sales targets.
- Ensure new and existing intermediaries are trained on products and systems, and kept updated on developments.
- Conduct regular face-to-face and online meetings to ensure satisfaction with relationships, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement/additional sales.
- Identify barriers to sale experienced by intermediaries and provide feedback for consideration by the Head of Sales & Marketing/Executive Team.
- Maintain accurate records on the CRM system (Salesforce).
- Assist in developing and managing best practice Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the distribution channel.
- Monitor market announcements/developments to maximize new sales opportunities.
- Meet sales and performance targets.
- Undertake all work in line with service and quality standards, complying with all policies and processes.
- Communicate values in dealings with colleagues, intermediaries, and third parties, ensuring adherence to Treating Customers Fairly principles and acting with integrity.
- Ensure all correspondence is stored safely and complies with data protection policies and regulations.
- Comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements including FCA and PRA rules, UK General Data Protection Regulations, and all relevant health & safety, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery laws.
- Maintain high personal standards in attendance, time-keeping, and conduct.
