TidalSense is a respiratory technology company with a mission to transform the diagnosis, monitoring and management of chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD. The company has ambitions to enable a population-scale change in respiratory care through global deployment of its technologies.

TidalSense is about to launch the first-of-its-kind AI-driven (software medical device) diagnostic test for COPD which uses the company’s unique, patented, sensor technology embedded in the N-Tidal device.

We are seeking a Head of Supply Chain with strong production and supply chain management experience to lead our internal and 3rd party manufacturing and distribution operations . We are at an exciting phase in our journey as we transition from a start-up to a scale-up.
You will be joining a passionate, socially-motivated and multi-disciplinary team covering engineers, scientists, clinicians, designers, product and usability specialists. Job purpose

Manage and lead the production and logistics of TidalSense’s medical devices for the UK and global markets, support the continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes and lead the continuous improvement of quality, cost and efficiency of production and distribution of our products whilst maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key duties & responsibilities
  • Develop and drive the company's production and supply chain strategy to support quality objectives and budget
  • Develop, implement and run an effective demand forecasting process in partnership with the Commercial team
  • Build and implement an effective supplier strategy and manage supplier relationships to ensure they are performing for us operationally and maintaining quality and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for management of the day-to-day production, and logistics operations of the business (in-house and out-sourced), ensuring the functions are running efficiently
  • Develop, implement, and report on operational KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for risk management in product realisation and distribution
  • Analyse, design and implement processes, procedures and tools which add value by reducing costs, mitigating risk and improving service while ensuring that quality and regulatory compliance is maintained

Essential:

  • Ability to be agile and work within a fast-paced environment

  • Experience of managing teams within a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Proven record of analysis-based end-to-end value chain improvement
  • Proven record of innovating to improve operational performance, implementing and embedding change
  • Customer focused to ensure an efficient and optimised operations function and embedding a customer-centric team culture
  • Ability to successfully evaluate operational performance and take an analytical and data driven approach to operational processes to further scale the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • At least a Masters degree in Engineering or related STEM subject (or equivalent post-graduate training)
  • Medical device manufacturing operational background with at least 5 years in a managerial or consultancy role with experience of strategy development, hands-on operational delivery and budgetary responsibility
  • Experience of planning, evaluating and on-boarding out-sourced medical device production and distribution organisations, establishing commercial and quality agreements that meet EU/FDA regulatory requirements
  • Proven record of leading data-led end-to-end value chain improvement to quality, service and cost
  • Proven record of maintaining effective relationships with out-sourced suppliers.

Desirable:

  • Experience of medical device scale-up from prototype to high volume manufacture
  • Experience of ERP implementation
  • ISO 13485 auditor trained
Other Requirements
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK without a visa or sponsorship
  • Will need to be able to work in person in the Cambridge office at least 2 days / week. Hybrid (work from home some days) and flexible hours available depending on the nature of the tasks at hand.
