School Health Staff Nurse - London

The post-holder will be a member of a multi skilled school nurse team working with colleagues to provide a public health focussed needs-led equitable service to children and young people in Lewisham. The service is delivered using corporate caseload load approach.
S/he will be guided by the Team Manager and will work with colleagues across education and social care. S/he will support junior members of staff. S/he will provide health promotion programmes to schools as outlined in the services core objectives.
S/he will work closely with School staff, Community Paediatricians, health visitors and GPs as well as other professionals and agencies. S/he will record and monitor services delivered and report back to the Team Leader. She will take responsibility for developing care plans for children with specific health care needs with support and guidance from the Team Leader and special needs nursing team.

Attend child protection conferences. The post holder will support the service in the delivery of health promotion programmes and others areas of service delivery in the school and community setting.
