Front Counters Assistant

• Location: Cluster Based across 3 sites based in Accrington & Blackburn
• Job Type: Full-time Rota Basis
• Salary £12.00 per hour

We are seeking a Front Counters Assistant to provide a professional, multifunctional face-to-face customer service to the public and internal colleagues. The role involves safeguarding the public & victims, recording incidents and crimes, and offering appropriate advice using the National Decision Model (NDM).

Day to Day of the Role:

• Serve as the first point of contact for victims of crime attending the Police Station, ensuring their safety and protection.
• Record emergency and non-emergency incidents reported at the Front Counter in accordance with National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS).
• Create, grade, and manage incident logs to appropriate resolution, alerting supervision of any serious incidents.
• Process Evidence Related Property and return items to owners.
• Collate information from people ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Record details of Court bail and Police bail, liaising with Courts and other Forces.
• Handle and process monies/valuables received, following correct documentation and banking procedures.
• Produce accurate written statements for Court use.
• Direct enquiries regarding lost or found property appropriately.
• Comply with security arrangements for the Police Station and manage visitor access.
• Manage messages, appointments, and Voluntary Attendance tasks.
• Deploy resources to incidents using radio dispatch and oversee incident response.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in providing customer advice in a busy environment on a variety of issues.
• Excellent listening, questioning, and interpersonal skills, with good oral communication.
• Experience in dealing with people in difficult or confrontational circumstances.
