About the Role:
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Newton Abbot
  • Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (flexible hours available)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Encourage independence and build confidence in pupils through positive support.
  • Help manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable).
  • A patient, empathetic, and caring attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of pupils and provide personalised support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. , CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) or a willingness to train.
