Robin Hood Junior School, located in the heart of Sutton town centre, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join us in April. Our school is home to brilliant children and a team of fabulous staff who are committed to creating an inspiring and nurturing learning environment.

This post is for26.25 hours per week, term time plus inset days and may in future include some whole school lunchtime roles which could be clubs, library or other supervision. It is a Scale 3 post and the salary equates to approximately £15.20 per hour. As a guideline, the annual full-time salary is approximately £28,521pa with a pay award pending for April 2025.If you are already a classroom teaching assistant with over 4 years of recent, relevant and continuous experience, then please ask for further details regarding the role and pay for a Senior Teaching Assistant.
You need to have:
- Relevant, recent experience in a school (preferably at KS2)
- NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification preferred
- GCSE Maths and English / equivalent qualification and clear spoken English
- High standards and expectations for student achievement
- A proactive approach to supporting learning & development
- Skills to engage and motivate children
- Ability to use a range of strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour
- Excellent communication skills with children and colleagues
